ASL Club Halloween Party

Friday, October 22nd was the ASL Club's Halloween Party. We had a huge turnout with lots of fun and lots of junk food.
Here are Emma, Char, Alyssa, Brittney and Heather.
Here are David and Kristy. Poor sports didn't dress up. Lame.
Cypress claimed she forgot to dress up, but I thought she looked awesome.
Bryan forgot to dress up, too, but Mikaela, Hunter, Jerilyn, and Kaysha made up for it.
Here are Amber and her-friend-whose-name-I-forgot. (Sorry friend) Amber made her dress. Didn't she do a fantastic job?!?
Here is another person-whose-name-I-forgot. Sorry Kami's friend.
Two more slackers who didn't dress up: Steven and Ashlee.
Sierra and Devin look great!
President Emilee, baby Brody, and vice president Amber.
For our first activity, the club members had a Halloween ASL word scramble. Kristy was the first to figure out all the words and she won a cookie.

Next they broke into 4 teams and carved pumpkins. This is Cypress, Kayla and a boy whose name I don't know.
Hunter, Kaysha, Micaela, Bryan and Jerilyn... they don't look too excited to be carving pumpkins.
Char, Emma, Brittney and Steven... getting dirty.

We decided to take a break from the pumpkins to play the donut-on-a-string game. Here is the first round of contestants: "the girl who knocked over the orange soda", Hunter, David, Kaysha, Cypress and a girl whose name I don't know. Sorry.
They all had to eat their donuts off the string without using their hands. The first to finish their donut was the winner.

David was the first to eat his entire donut... but now he looks like he is going to barf!
Here is the second group of donut-eaters: Courtney, boy, Devin, Heather, Sierra, and Emma.

Sierra, the piggy...oops, I mean kitty, was the first to finish her donut.

After the donut contest we looked at the results of the pumpkin carving contest. Not bad ladies.
Nice work... creepy.
I love Jack Skellington!
The winner is the pumpkin with the knife in his eye and puke in his mouth. Very gross.
Thank you to everyone who came to the Halloween party. Thank you, especially, to those who brought snacks and to those to stayed to help clean up the mess.

Cyprus Homecoming Parade

The Cyprus High School Homecoming Parade was held Wednesday, September 29th, 2010. The ASL Club decided to learn how to sign the song "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. They practiced for 3 weeks to get ready for the parade.
Here is the ASL Club just before they headed out to the parade route.

Here they are at the parade route starting line.

They made it to the parade route starting line with plenty of time to stand around and goof off.

This is JosB. Emilee, Amber, Alyssa and Micaela are wondering why he got to be front-and-center in the picture.
Check out the awesome shirts the ASL Club designed. They turned out pretty nice, I think.
Kaysha and Micaela are ready for the parade. Brandon and Bryan are too busy flirting with the ladies.
Claudia and JosB waiting by the car. Our ASL Club president, Emilee, is looking on.
Here are Emma, Eilene and Char. Don't they look cute?
Carly and Kayla are killing time before the parade starts with other members of the ASL Club.
Here are Kristy and David hanging out before the parade.
Tyler and Kami relaxing in the shade. It was hot out.
Here they are still waiting for the parade to start.
Yay! The parade finally started. The ASL Club walked beside the music-car a mile down Magna Main to Cyprus High's tennis courts. It was a long walk. (Glad I didn't have to do it)
Oh, man. Check out those shirts. They look so much better than last year's.
Cypress' eyes look nuts in this picture.
Look at those ASL Club members jammin' down the street.
They are starting to look a little tired. Tired of walking and tired of hearing that song over, and over, and over, and over...
Almost done, girls. Don't stop.
There are some smiles. I think they know that they are almost done.
Looking good, ladies. Nearly there.
Thanks for joining the ASL Club and for participating in the homecoming parade. Look forward to many more fun activities, and games, and treats, and fundraisers, and an end-of-the-year trip to the Lagoon!!!
